Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres) today announced that he is sponsoring a contemporary art competition for California State Senate District 12. The winner will be the piece of art that Senator Cannella believes best represents the district. The artist will receive special recognition from the Senate and have their piece displayed in the State Capitol as part of the Senate California Contemporary Art Collection.
“I am proud to represent such a rich and diverse district and I am excited to be able to showcase the talent of the district in the State Capitol,” said Senator Cannella.

The artist must also agree to loan their art to the exhibit for approximately 18 months. The planned schedule for the exhibit is May 2013 to September 2014.
