State Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres) today announced hiring Steven Nascimento, a lifelong Turlock resident, as his district director.
“I am excited to have Steven Nascimento join my staff as district director. Throughout his career, Steven has demonstrated he is committed to serving the people of the Central Valley,” said Sen. Cannella. “He has also shown the ability to work with community leaders to build effective coalitions. I know he will bring that same high level of public service to the 12th Senate District.”
Nascimento most recently served as district director for US Congressman Dennis Cardoza (D-Merced). Previously, Nascimento worked as a planning technician for the City of Modesto, and currently serves on Turlock's Parks, Recreation and Community Commission. Nascimento attended California State University, Stanislaus, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.
Nascimento replaces district director Chris Tyler.
“Chris Tyler has been an invaluable asset to me and has been a key advisor from the day I assumed office. I am grateful for his service and dedication to the people of the 12th District,” Cannella added.
