Sen. Cannella Reacts to Governor's State of the State Address

Thursday, January 25, 2018

State Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres) issued the following statement on Governor Jerry Brown’s last State of the State Address, saying:

“As Governor Brown said, there is still much to do. I do see that California is prospering, but not in unison. Parts of the state are still recovering from record unemployment, and we need to be mindful of how we can spur growth in all regions of the state,” said Senator Anthony Cannella (R-Ceres). “It is my hope that the Legislature and future Governor focus on what ills our state, including crime, infrastructure and providing sustainable water for future generations. I appreciate the Governor’s attention to the need for a sustainable water system for all. We passed a water bond in 2014, yet still have not realized increased water storage capacity. As these projects take decades to complete, we are already falling behind our promise to our constituents. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate and the Governor this year towards a greater California.”
